👤horomiOne month has passed since the start of JAPANglish (*^^*)
JAPANglishが公開されて１ヶ月が立ちました。
We learned a lot from each other and would like to record it here to encourage us in the future.
とてもたくさんの学びがあったのでここに記録しようと思います。
The Japanese language study support project was first discussed in August.
日本語学習をサポートする企画がはじめにもちあがったのは
2022/08/25
We began by researching the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT).
それから私は日本語能力検定について調べはじめました。
‘ What is the test ? ‘
どんな検定なのか….
‘ What kind of content is the curriculum to master ? ‘
どんなことを学ぶカリキュラムなのか….
‘ Are there any other similar study curricula ? ‘
他に類似する学習カリキュラムはあるのか….
We investigated anyway.
とにかく調べました。
Whenever we found something interesting during my research,
we bought a book to get an overview of the subject.
気になる部分は本を購入し雰囲気を理解できるようにしました。
’ What kind of content do we actually want to create? ’
‘ What's our strategy? ’
「どういったアプローチでコンテンツを作っていくか？」
We could not make a clear decision just by researching,
so we had to actually communicate with people overseas who were learning Japanese.
調べるだけでは掴めない部分があったので、
実際に日本語を学ぶ海外の方とやりとりをはじめることにしました。
Interaction with learners to create convincing content
Tera(the planner of JAPANglish) introduced me to Cloude and I would exchange messages with him.
He is someone who is studying to pass the N4.
N4取得を目指して勉強しているCloudeさんです。
At the time, my English skills were limited to grammar from textbooks,
and this was the first time I had actually interacted with someone.
このときの私のスキルは、
はじめての日本語を学ぶ海外の人とやりとりをするといった状態です。
Of course,
I had no idea of the state of foreign people learning Japanese.
‘ What is the Japanese language he can understand? ’
「どんな日本語なら伝わるの？」
‘ Can he read ひらがな ? ’
「ひらがなは読める？」
‘ Can he read カタカナ ? ’
「カタカナは難しいかな？」
I used deepL, an AI automated translation service,
because I am not at a high enough level to be able to translate my questions into English.
英語を自由に使えるほど私は習得できていないレベルなので、
AI自動翻訳サービスのdeep Lを使いました。
I introduced him to free content, and vice versa, and he told me about free content,
and we exchanged information with each other.
私が彼に無料コンテンツを紹介したり、逆に彼が私に無料コンテンツを教えてくれたり、お互いに情報交換をしました。
I never taught N4 the content,
but the more we exchanged messages, the more he started sending messages in Japanese.
私はN4の内容を教えることはなかったけど、
彼は無料コンテンツを上手く活用して日に日に日本語が上達していきました。
Sometimes he would ask me funny questions, which often made me laugh.
たまに面白い質問が来て、よく笑わされました。
Sometimes I forgot that he was not Japanese.
やりとりを重ねるごとに私は彼が日本人ではないことを忘れてしまうことが度々ありました。(それくらい上手になった)
That is how native Japanese he had come to use.
I even asked him to teach me English.
英語を教えてもらうこともありました。
Somewhere along the way, we became each other's learners and teachers.
お互いが学習者であり、教える人でもある存在となりました。
And he taught me the charm of writing by hand.
そして、彼から手書きで書くノートのパワーを教わりました。
Handwriting shows the writer's personality in the words.
And it is very heartwarming.
手書きはその人らしさが現れて、とても心温まる。
I wanted to incorporate those elements into our content,
so I started a diary exchange on Instagram.
そういった要素を私達のコンテンツに取り入れたいと思い、日記交流をはじめました。

He showed me areas that I could not have noticed on my own.
It helped me to make a clear decision about the direction of our content.
実際に日本語を学習する海外の人と交流することで
分からなかった部分がクリアになっていきました。

Create a web page to present an overview
We created our page using Notion, an application that allows you to create web pages for free.
The functionality is still limited on smartphones, but if you are interested in using it, please try it.
Our passion for JAPANglish can't be contained without a blog. So we decided to prepare a blog.
日本語学習サポートに対する私達の熱い思いをブログにして残していきたいといった思いもあったので、
I was particular about the design and placement of the modifications.

It was not until September 25 that we were able to create a satisfactory design.
納得いくデザインになったのは09/25頃でした。
At this point, one month has passed since the JAPANglish project began. 🤣
SNS at the center of exchange
The general framework of the JAPANglish was in place,
but we needed a tool that would appeal to the actual learners.
大枠は仕上がりましたが、
実際に学習する人に訴えかけられるツールが必要です。
At first, I considered focusing on Twitter,
but then I learned that unlike in Japan, many people overseas use Instagram. Therefore, we decided to focus our activities on Instagram.
はじめはTwitterをメインに活動をしようと考えましたが、
海外の人はInstagramをよく使うということを知り、
Instagramをメインに活動することにしました。

So far I have used Instagram for private content.
I have never minded visitors.
プライベートのアカウントは訪問者を全く気にせず自分の好きな写真を投稿しているだけだったので、
Therefore,
I am biased in my contributions and have discovered that there are many features that I have never used.
使ったことのない機能がたくさんありました。
Instagram：STORY
Cloude always showed me a delicious cafe STORY.
As a viewer, I enjoyed it so much that I decided that I would like to post stories frequently as well.
でも、Cloudeさんがいつも美味しそうなカフェのストーリーを見せてくれてとても楽しかったので私もストーリーを頻繁に投稿したいなと思いました。
So I decided to look up and use STORY.
ストーリーの使い方を調べて使ってみることにしました。

I posted ordinary, casual scenes in my STORY.
普段の何気ないワンシーンをストーリーに投稿していきました。
I want you to get to know me as we study together,
and I also want you to get to know Japan.
一緒に勉強する私のことも知ってほしいし、日本についても知ってほしいなといった思いを込めています。
Instagram：POST
I has tried to limit the post to content that you can try yourself if you refer to one post as much as possible.
投稿は、なるべく１つの投稿を参考に学習者が試行錯誤して日本語を習得できるような内容にしました。
The reason is that I thought that specific test preparation was unnecessary since substantial content has already been posted by people other than myself.
理由としては、具体的な試験対策投稿は既にもういい内容で投稿しているアカウントがあるからです。
I wanted to provide information that would make studying more enjoyable and efficient for self-study by successfully combining the content of those who have contributed substantial content.
そういったアカウントを上手く使ってより楽しく、効率的に自学自習のできる情報を提供したいと考えました。

However,
this is not enough to understand how people are studying Japanese.
ですが、これだけでは学習している人の状態が分かりません。
Instagram：STORY_Diary
So,
I decided to write a diary using kanji learned in N5 in STORY.
そこで、ストーリーでN5で習う漢字を使って日記を書くことにしました。
Perhaps
the vocabulary should also be adapted to what is learned in N5.
However,
I use a range of vocabulary without limitation
because I want people studying Japanese to learn the kanji learned in N5 in the process of reading natural Japanese.
テキストには例文より自然な日本語で漢字に触れて欲しいといった目的があります。
Individual messages on Instagram would sometimes send me diaries written by people studying Japanese.
個別のメッセージで学習者の書いた日記を送ってくれることもあり、
I was able to learn which parts are difficult when writing Japanese.
そこで「どんな部分の使い方が難しいのか」といった情報を得ることができました。
I used what I learned and reflected it in my diary the next day.
得た情報をもとに後日の日記に取り入れてストーリーに投稿しました。
Writing a daily diary is very time consuming, but it is also a learning experience.
毎日日記を書けるのは、それなりに時間を要しますがとても学びになります。
After working on it for about a week, I realized something.
That is, no one can keep a diary every day.
To begin with, "continuity" is the most important thing when studying.
I have come to believe that if a person studying Japanese cannot find the time to keep a diary, there is no point.
１週間ほどたった時に「もっと簡単に日本語を使って交流できるようにしたいな」と思うようになりました。
I decided to use Twitter as a place to practice writing simple Japanese and to interact with others.
Twitterで日本語を使った交流をする場所を作ることにしました。
Tera, who is an expert in bot development, has created a bot that regularly tweets Japanese kanji and sentence patterns.
Teraさんが日本語の漢字や文型を定期的に投稿してくれるbotを開発してくれたので、
It occurred to me to create an atmosphere where people can interact with each other starting with the bot's postings.
その投稿をもとに交流をしようと考えました。
It is actually more enjoyable than expected when I try it.
実際にやってみると思った以上に楽しいです。
It makes me very happy every time I see participants who are studying Japanese enjoying themselves as much as we do.

Finally
It has been two months if you include the preparation period, but it has been one month since we started recruiting participants in earnest.
１ヶ月目の活動を振り返りました。
Looking back on our activities, what we realized is that we just made it.
振り返って改めて気づいたことは、
「作っただけで、習慣化するための仕掛けができていない」
ということです。
It is how we treat it as part of our daily life in order to continue to study and learn.
In November, our second month,
we will be working on the theme of habit formation.
２ヶ月目となる１１月は【習慣化】をテーマに活動していこうと思います。
It is exciting just to imagine what kind of encounters we will have in the future.
これからどんな出会いがあるのか、
想像するだけでもワクワクしています。
We want to create an environment where everyone can enjoy studying together!
みなさんと一緒に楽しく勉強できる環境を作っていきたいです＼(^o^)／
